Hotel Valley Ho
A night of R&R in the heart of Scottsdale
Hotel Valley Ho is a hip little hot-spot right near Scottsdale’s main drag that we found via recommendation from a online travel group. The hotel embodies a perfectly tasteful 70’s mid-century modern vibe without feeling run down or hokey, making us question whether we were actually in Palm Springs or Arizona. We think its tough to execute on this type of theme, but Hotel Valley Ho manages to do it in such an effortless, contemporary way that we absolutely loved it.
The reason we came to Scottsdale was because we had a day-long stopover on our way to the Grand Canyon. We could have looked for cheaper options but sometimes you just want to stay at a nice hotel and sit by the pool. After weeks of running around, we were in desperate need of a day-off and that’s exactly what we got. Hotel Valley Ho’s outdoor area is absolutely gorgeous with a massive round pool as the centerpiece to it’s structural layout. Situated just next to its owned restaurant ZuZu (legit the best waffles of our lives), the pool area also has its own bar and food service, cabanas, hot tub, and floaties to complete your ultimate relaxation station. We were there during the week, so we didn’t get to experience the Recovery Sundays being advertised (aka Sunday Funday) – but from the sounds of it, the vibe is something like a mini-Vegas pool party. If none of that floats your boat, there is an additional lap pool near the spa that seems to be the most low-key area of the hotel.
Speaking of spa, aside from having a great vibe, amazing outdoor space, a delicious restaurant and spacious rooms (with freakin’ amazing showers btw), Hotel Valley Ho also has a complete day spa (albeit expensive for our wallets), rooftop beer garden and yoga classes. Everything you need to unwind in the desert.
If you decide that you’ve had enough sun, you can always take a break from the pool to head downtown (walking distance), or take a short Uber to the Desert Botanical Garden. We got the inside scoop that the gardens are best at sunset, and can officially confirm that it’s true.
Lastly, we have to give a special shoutout to the staff at Hotel Valley Ho who are the friendliest people we’ve ever met. Maybe it’s just because everyone in Arizona is super friendly compared to what we’re used to in the big city, but either way, we liked it.
Thank you to Hotel Valley Ho for hosting us in Scottsdale. All opinions are 100% honest and completely our own.
